Fetus Hair Growth?

Just curious. I had a 28 week sonogram last week and the lady that did my sono (2d) said that the baby had a little bit of hair. I was shocked to find out about that considering my fiance and i are both blonde. When do fetus' start to grow hair? Will more grow? I know silly question, but I tried to research on the net and found nothing.

I allready gave this link to somebody. They have plenty stuff there about pregnancy. You can add your due date and get info weekly about what to expect. I hope it will be helpfull.

Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy :)

there's a little of hair on the head, knuckles, legs, and arms. Yes more will grow during the pregnancy. My daughter was born with a full head of hair.

Babies are sometimes born with very fine hair. Sometimes that hair falls out after they are born and they grow new hair. But don楹搕 worry, it楹搒 normal.

What does being blond have to do with your baby having hair?

Fetus Hair Growth?

Hair or not, what does blonde have to do with it? She wasn't saying "okk....now I see your baby has light brown hair, etc, etc" she was saying, ok I can see your baby has hair right now....not what color. They told me my son had hair at his 28/30 week appointment too. It's normal.

Hair on fetuses and newborns is common. My little boy had hair on his back!(It went away after a few weeks). He had a full head of hair at birth and it never fell out. No bald -baby- look for him at all. I am concerned about your ability to raise your child, though. What kind of a comment was that about being blond? And don't you have enough self-esteem to capitalize "I"?

about this time, your baby'll have hair and fingernails.

by the 2nd tri-mester, your baby has develped most of it's features.

i took a class on it =]

it's hard to believe she could see that on an ultrasound unless it was 3d . my baby was totally bald when he was born

Congrats!!!

Your baby will have hair at this stage and will grow more by the time he/she is born. My husband has black hair and mine is a lighter brown. Our youngest son is sandy blond. Go figure....Your baby is doing just fine....I am happy for you:)

Try the site below.

Fetus Hair Growth?

At around 8 weeks, your baby starts to grow fine hair (this is called lanugo) on its head. By about 25 weeks, the lanugo covers its whole body. By 36 weeks, the lanugo has been shed and the hair on your baby's head becomes thicker and coarser. Even if your baby is born looking bald, there is actually some fuzz on his little head. And if your baby happens to be born prematurely before 36 weeks (and I sure hope he doesn't), his entire body will be covered in a layer of very fine hair.

This is just a very short summary of what's happening to your baby, look up something on fetal growth if you want to know more details.

You people are not very bright. What I think she was trying to say was that because her and her fiance are both fair (blonde) that it is unusual for the baby to have hair. Most babies born to parents who are fair are iether bald or have little hair when born whereas babies born to darker haired parents might have a full head of hair when born.....that's all!!!!
