Can coloring your hair slow down hair growth?

I have been coloring my hair for several years. The last time I colored my hair was 6 months ago. The dye I used to color my hair damaged it so much that I had to cut it.I'm now having problems growing it out.

I don't dye but use hair lighter or whatever it is where you put chemicals in to lighten your hair color (no lye). I have been doing it for awhile, every few months. I also chemically straighten my hair.

Technically it doesn't prevent hair growth because you dye your hair and then new growth grows (which is why the roots of your hair are your natural color as to your dyed hair). The same thing goes for checmically straightening your hair or perms. The only way it can come out looking like your hair doesn't grow is damaged hair.

Damage hair depending how you treat it can prevent your hair from growing out because the ends or the hair is brekaing off. For with all the chemicals in my hair my hair will become damaged and break off and I don't use conditioners or hot oils because @ that point it's just good to go to your hair stylist and have them cut out the damage portion of your hair, condition your hair, and give your hair the necessary treatments to help it get back on track.

Once that happens you will see your hair growing again. Not once though did I see my hair not grow with all the brekage and damage (well not grow but cut out the brekage and then I saw my hair re-grow or continue growing from that point).

I now use this product ( I feel like i'm selling it) because with all the damage I get so sick of having it cut now because it just goes back to short and then grows and the routinue starts all over again. I was recommended this product, Damage Therapy complex (they have all type sof therapies available or even simple products), by Bumble and Bumble. This really helps. I was so amazed because I just re-relaxed my hair 3 weeks ago and it started breaking out again but I used this product and it's nice because now when I comb my hair I see very very few strands of hair, and even the strands I do see is not breakage but just me pulling it. http://www.bumbleandbumble.com/

Good Luck.

THE TINT SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GROWTH OF THE HAIR. ALWAYS NEED TO CONDITION.

Your hair folicles are probably damaged from all of the chemicals. I suggest a deep conditioner once or twice a week, a gentile shampoo and daily conditioner every day in between and make an effort to put extra protein in your diet.

no

I dye my hair at least once every 6 months. I have no problem growing it out. but my goodness- I suggest stopping with the hair dye- use some hair shampoo or something to help grow it back.

Can coloring your hair slow down hair growth?

Yes, because you are putting chemicals in your hair that shouldnt be there and anything that has chemicals or can damage your hair can slow down the growth of your hair.....

You can damage your hair by doing it. Your hair will no longer accept the dye and you will have to deal with it somehow. (think clippers)

Can coloring your hair slow down hair growth?

Yes, because u use Chemicals %26amp; they break the hair and cause split ends which dosen't allow hair to grow.

Can coloring your hair slow down hair growth?

No. Hair is already dead once it grows out of your scalp! The hair follicle is in the skin and the dyes don't penetrate deep enough to cause any damage to the follicle and affect the rate of hair growth. Remember the saying "A watched pot never boils". I can assure you your hair is growing at the same rate it always has.
