Is my hair-growth related to high testosterone?

A little over a year ago, I started living with my boyfriend, who is on hormone therapy. He rubs testosterone cream onto his skin, or occasionally injects testosterone into his hip. A few months after we started sharing a bed, I noticed my body hair was growing in thicker and darker, and I was getting more of it, especially on the fronts of my thighs, the line from my navel to my crotch, and a bit on my upper lip. I'm a pale-skinned blonde, so it was surprising to suddenly start growing black body-hair.

Could it be his T is rubbing off on me? I couldn't think of another reason I would be suddenly growing more hair. I saw a doctor, and she said my testosterone levels were quite high. Is it just my body putting out a lot of testosterone, or has his affected my body? If my hair-growth is because of testosterone, will it go away after I get more estrogen? Is there anything I can do to counter-act it?

it could possibly be the testosterone rubbing off on you. it could also be polycystic ovaries, so if u start noticing any of the other symptoms for polycystic ovaries, see your doctor asap.

I think it could. He needs to wear clothing to bed because if he does not cover up, you may be getting it from the bedclothes. Also, during sex, if you make full-body contact and you get sweaty (his or yours) you can easily get dosed.

If he's rubbing the cream onto himself and you are sleeping beside him then it may really be rubbing off onto your skin as well. I'd tell him to keep that cream away from you cause you'd rather not be hairy.

It sounds like a testosterone reaction to me. Don't let him get near you with that stuff on.Once you aren't absorbing it anymore, the effects will go away.

it can rub off and women should stear clear of it as much as possible !

You should see a nutritionist rather than a MD. All the MD's my wife has seen don't know beans about hormones and their interactions. She has naturally high testosterone levels. You more than likely getting a dose from your BF. If the hormone is absorbed thru his skin, it will absorb thru yours also. Maybe he can change his method of application, apply it where you will not be in contact with it so much. Maybe you can wear gloves and apply it to his back. Maybe he can get a different form of the hormone. Maybe the nutritionist can suggest ways for him to boost his own testosterone. Natural hormones are always better than the synthetics. I would be concerned about the hidden side effects of the hormone that you can't see. It is definitely worth looking in to further.

If your boyfriend is rubbing this stuff on then you're rubbing on him it is possible that you're getting some of it on you. I'd be freaked out, I don't know what to do other than don't let him touch you untill the stuff has been on for like 12 hours and completely soaked in.

Yep, it's from him. How much longer is he going to be on that stuff? When he's done using it you'll be done using it too!!
