Does bleaching and dyeing hair slow hair growth?

i am considering bleaching my hair and dyeing it red because i have a competition coming up and we all want to have team spirit, etc.

i have heard that both of these processes damage hair, but does that mean they will necessarily slow growth? if so, by how much? what exactly does it mean to have damaged hair? and if either of these processes does slow growth, is there any way to minimize that?

Does bleaching and dyeing hair slow hair growth?

No, it wont slow the growth...but if it is damaged, you will have to cut more off the ends than just trimming it. So, it will take longer for it to get to the length that you want it. And if its damaged, trust me, you will know!

Does bleaching and dyeing hair slow hair growth?

No, slowing of growth is not the problem as hair growth is affected by other things, including the state of your scalp.

Only if the bleach damages your scalp can it be a threat to hair growth itself.

HOWEVER, when referring to damaging the strand, damage is in fact inevitable, the best thing you can do is minimise the appearance of the damage by using deep conditioning treatments and hair gloss. Good luck.
