Could hot hair tools be stunting my hair growth?

I don't straighten my hair or use other hot tools too incredibly frequently, but I do use them regularly (during the school year). My hair is kinda damaged. I've been trying to grow my hair long for awhile, but it seems like it hasn't grown past the length it's been for a long time.

I don't want to swear away straighteners, I'd still like to use them whenever I feel the desire. But could that be stunting my hair growth?

Could hot hair tools be stunting my hair growth?

Well to much use of them could! When you use these hot tool such as straightners, curling irons and blow dryers it damages your hair and cause dead hair cells and split ends! Once your hair cells are dead and are brittle they wont grow anymore! If your having a problem with hair growth you should probably get your hair cut to get all the dead off! hope everything works out!! 閳?br>Could hot hair tools be stunting my hair growth?

it damages your hair, definatley maximum split ends, and frizz, not good. i prefer to use less hot iron hair tools, unless its an important occasion

Wells, its highly possible, considering that it thins them out. If you have thick hair it shouldnt though. MAybe try using pantene, or biolage. I dont colormy hair, but I straightenit. It is very thick though, but I use pantene and fructis anyway!

Try blowdrying it straight. Use a straightner for your bangs. I find blowdrying the hair straight gives it more volume and a straight natural look to it. Buy a steel brush that wont melt in the heat. Take the brush and a strand of hair and push it up against the hairdryer. Pull down on each strand all the way from the root to the bottom and repeat this 8 times if you have curly hair, 5 if you have wavy, and 4 if its almost straight but a bit frizzy. My hair grows faster when i use this method to straighten it.

yes after a while things like straighteners will fry your hair and cause some damage just go for a while w/out using any or there are special shampoos that help w/hair damage

also this is going to sound dumb but use a cheap straightener they don't work as well or get as hot so they can't fry your hair as much but with cheap you probably have to spend extra 5-10 minutes on your hair if it is really frizzy

Nope they dont, no worries =]

Could hot hair tools be stunting my hair growth?

Yes actually. What you're doing is creating a lot of deadness in your hair, and when your hair has a lot of damage and dead ends, then it will grow very slowly. You should use straighteners less, and get a trim from the hair salon to get rid of some of the deadness. Then use a conditioning shampoo, and mosturizing conditioner.

first your going to want to head to the salon and get the dead ends cut off...it will help your hair grow faster. second before you use any hot tools on your hair, spray it with a heat protection (try the ones made by dove or tressame) you are probably over processing and it is frying it and making it dry which makes it very easy to break. also condition every other night so your hair get plenty of moisture

Yes hot iron tools are known to do that my best advice for you is to just condition your hair every two days and it will get stronger just leave the hot utilities alone for a week and see how your hair does. and consider to wrap your hair at night. That helps so you dont get split ends and frizzy hair. (hope i helped and good luck...)
