Years ago I broke one of my wrists. The cast extended from just below my fingers to above my elbow. When it was removed, there was thick black hair growth on both my hand and up my arm. It looked like 'Planet of the Apes'. I shaved it off and it grew normally after that. Has anyone else experienced this? Just wondering what the scientific explanation is -- seems like the friction from the cast would have produced less hair instead of more.
Plaster casts and hair growth?
I have never had a cast, but my friend has and the same thing happened. Since it is humid underneath the cast it help to promote hair growth, just like your underarms.
