Okay, I keep reading that faster hair growth is a sign of pregnancy. But I've noticed that my hair growth has been dramatically SLOWER while pregnant! I used to have to shave my legs every day, and now I can go 4-5 days. The hair on my head used to grow 1 to 2 inches a month, so I could never keep a haircut, but now it grows maybe 1/2 inch a month. The only thing that seems to be really growing is fine blonde peach fuzz on my tummy...lol.
I just wondered if you expericed increased or decreased hair growth during pregnancy? And were you having a boy or a girl? Just for fun! Thanks!

i never really took notice my first. my second (a boy) was WAY slower!! i got my eyebrows done (normally every 2-3 weeks) and 3 months later, still barely needed touched up!! my hair wouldnt grow for anything!! this time, (still dont know what it is) i had my eyebrows done for my wedding in may, and you could tell they needed redone like 5 days later!!! my legs %26amp; pits i need to do every other day, if not every day. so hopefully its a girl this time!! oh, and i know its bad, but i always forget my prenatals; so im not on them regularly. so i cant account my growth to the vitamins.

Mine grows faster but as you are seeing for many women it's nto really faster just thicker or more of it.

:) The hair growth, thickness and such, along with your nails, is mostly if not ALL due to your prenatal vitamins. :)

The hair on my head is growing at the same rate as it did before. However I have PCOS and have hair where it is not wanted and that is growing faster than normal. No justice!!!!

That's odd. Prenatal vitamins are supposed to speed up your hair and nail growth. They are also supposed to make you constipated, which they do the exact OPPOSITE to me :(

I didn't notice any difference in my hair growth. It stayed about the same. But my fingernails grew like crazy! btw.. I had a girl and congratulations to you!

My hair (and nails, for that matter) started growing really rapidly. I think it was the pre-natal vitamins I was taking.

With my daughter, my hair grew really fast and with this pregnancy (which im having a boy) i've noticed that my hair grows even more fast. Especially the little hairs on my stomach...

My hair grows faster and thicker when I'm pregnant, regardless of the baby's gender, but my friends hair stops growing altogether. Then when she has the baby, she loses a whole lot of hair because it starts growing again and pushes the old hair out!

I totally agree with you. All my hair growth has slowed to a snails pace lol. And I'm having a girl. I'm glad it's slowed down because it's getting harder everyday to shave my legs lol. i also talked to my hairstylist and she said it was really a myth about faster hair growth. She's been in the business 25 years and has 3 kids of her own.

My hair has grown a lot faster, which has ruined my summer hair cut lol. And I also have to shave my legs more often, which is getting annoying cause I'm due tomorrow and I'm paranoid that I'm gonna go into labor with hairy legs!

In school they taught us that your hair doesn't grow faster but that it stays in its resting phase (doesn't fall out) for longer. %26amp; that is why after they give birth many pregnant women complain about hair loss.
Its not really hair loss, just the hair that would've normally been shed wasn't %26amp; so it shouldn't be any thinner than before they got pregnant - they just got used to their thick locks!!!!

Im having a little girl, and I have noticed I can go at least a week without needing to shave my legs...which is awesome because they are getting harder to reach! My hair is super thick on my head though, I haven't been "shedding" as much as I did before. Which saves the tub drain considerably! I just had a cut done to thin it out, because it was way to heavy and hot for summer. BUT I have grown hair on my belly!!! mostly light hair...but I get these really long dark ones around my belly button I pull out :)
