i had heart surgery some years ago,and now take several prescription meds. about this time my fingernails and toenail started growing at an unbeliveable rate. is there any medical explaniton for this?also i am ageing and quiet bald and this has not increased hair growth on my head..

oofta!! I feel bad for you.. although I dont know the actual medical diagnosis, I know it as to do with being inactive. Im not saying your lazy, because obviously having had heart surgery it would be advisable not to be so active for awhile, but when we become less active our body tends to send different signals throughout the body that may result in you problem. And the hair growth? it would be hereditary that it isnt growing back. The growth of finger and toe nails as opposed to hair growth are naturally two different things that cant be traced back to the same catalyst which sprung this abnormal occurrence. But good luck buddy, my dad had cancer and fought through so just do the same

The heart surgery could %26amp; should have increased your blood flow which would aid in nail growth, also if you are taking vitamin E that would also help. Which meds are you taking?
