Hair practically melted, any way to restore it and speed up hair growth, also best kinds of hair ext

i was bored so i got one of those hair relaxer kits. and i did it myself because i wanted my hair to look like the pretty black girl on the box. well my hair ended up a mess(practically melted lol), so i had it cut 10 inches. so my hair was up to my chin, since then it now grew about 5 inches(since 3 months ago when it happened) well anyways

1*how can i speed up my hair growth?,(i already have a good diet and plenty of proteins)

2*how can i restore my hair since the ends are still suppeeeeerrr damaged.

3*any way to dye my hair( dark shade) without causing damage? (because its turning blonde and thats weird because my natural hair color is almost black)

*what are best kinds of clip in extensions and how much do they last, and are the ones on ebay good?

(i'ved been using sinthetic by great lenths and i go through 1 complete set every 3 weeks)

thanx in advanced

So sorry you are experiencing this! I am a hairstylist, and an educator for a major hair products company...maybe I can help!

1. You cannot "speed" your hair growth unfortunately. Hair growth rate is determined by many factors, mostly hormonal and nutritional in nature. Make sure you are eating a diet rich in biotin which is essential for beautiful and healthy hair, skin, and nails.

2. Once your hair is damaged, it is damaged for ever (at least until you cut it off!) You can use deep, protein based conditioners to help stop the breakage, but it sounds like your hair is beyond fragile. If you previously had a relaxer in your hair, and then put another on top without knowing the chemical composition, the two relaxers may have interacted and basically dissolved your hair. There are many types of hair relaxers, however when you mix certain types, it has the same effect as Nair on your hair.

3. You should have your hair stylist use a color that is semi permanent only. These colors will glaze the hair, and generally don't contain ammonia. Please ask for SexyHair Liquid Art, Shades EQ, or Goldwell Colorance.

4. You need human hair clip in extensions. I am certified to do Great Lengths extensions. I think you are referring to another product, since Great Length is a strand by strand or fusion method of extension that lasts 3-5 months.

*****Also, in response to the above post. Trimming your ends regularly will not make your hair grow faster, that is a myth, and it is sad that so many in our industry either still believe it, or tell thier clients that story! Your hair is dead when it grows out of your scalp. That is why it doesn't hurt when you have a haircut. There are no nerves or blood in the hair shaft. What you do to the ends has NO effect on the follicle, or growth rate.

1. www.nioxin.com I have used these products and they work great at growing hair plus helped my hair health.

Vitamins too would be great even though you have a good diet.

2. At Sally's Beauty Supply you can get Alphgee. This is powerful stuff. I use at home but I have a salon hair dryer so I recommend getting a stylist to do this for you.

If your hair is really damaged extremely bad then have it conditioned with Alphgee once (1) a month other wise do it every three (3) months.

You can get these products at Sally's Beauty Supply.

***Aphogee Treatment for Damaged Hair (also has shampoo %26amp; conditioner)...this is a deep conditioner. if you do not have a dryer like the salon's use then get your stylist to do this treatment to your hair because it gets hard and if not used properly can break your hair.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. You will love the results.

My stylist charges me $10 and I bring the product. I will warn you depending on your hair length this does take about two hours, BUT WELL WORTH IT. Have this done about every three months for a year then once every six months from then on.

***PUREOLOGY shampoo %26amp; conditioner for color treated hair is the BEST.

3. I would talk to a hair colorist that has done color for years about this issue.

4. I have heard that the extensions that Jessica Simpson and her stylist have come out with are GREAT.

1. The best way to speed up the process of your hair growing is to get it trimmed 1/2 inch every 6-8 weeks. That is the best way for it to grow faster.

2. Get a good conditioner. K-Pak by Joico is an awesome thick moisturizing conditioner. You use it 2-3 times a week and leave it in for 5-10 minutes so it can thoroughly penetrate the hair follicle and get nicely moisturized. [It also smells good!]

3. I wouldn't color it just yet. If your hair melted off [even if it was a few months ago] there is most likely still damage on your ends. It wouldn't be smart to color over that. Even if you are going darker. At least with permanent color. You could always get a demi/semi permanent color that will last 6-8 weeks before it washes out. It will cover the blonde and it's not as harsh as permanent color because it doesn't have any peroxide in it.
