Why are you supposed to pull against the direction of hair growth when waxing?

I haven't ever waxed yet, but it just seems to make more sense to pull in the direction of hair growth, that they would come out easier and it would hurt less. Can someone please explain?

Why are you supposed to pull against the direction of hair growth when waxing?

Well, this depends on what you mean by "against the hairgrowth". if you mean, the way the hair naturally lays as being the direction of the hair growth, then you're incorrect. lol. sometimes, you can just yank on it and it'll hurt like heck, but not pull out. I see where you're coming from, but you must pull against the hairgrowth.

Why are you supposed to pull against the direction of hair growth when waxing?

your supposed to pull away from the way it grows.

Why are you supposed to pull against the direction of hair growth when waxing?

Actually, it wouldn't be as effective. When you spread the hot or cold wax on the hairs, you do it in the direction of the hair growth. So pulling on it in the same direction would do nothing but hurt.

Can clogged poors or bad Acne Cause lack of facial hair growth?

Do you think these organic root stimulator products work as a hair growth treatment for Afican Ameri

Today (8/1/07) I bought three organic root stimulator products: Uplifting Shampoo, Hair Mayonnase, and Carrot Oil. I tried it today, and it feels like its working so far. But, I was wondering if these products honestly work as a hair growth treatment for African American women, or did I just spent my money for nothing. Thank you.

Do you think these organic root stimulator products work as a hair growth treatment for Afican American women?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

Do you think these organic root stimulator products work as a hair growth treatment for Afican American women?

This is a bad advice.Because your hair is like your skin. You DO NOT use clarifying shampoo, that is designed for white women.Because you are African American, you need to add moisture not to remove oil from your hair, due to naturally dry hair that does not produce its own oil. Report It

That is why all Black women need to moisturize their hair. If you perm, blow dry your hair, use weave or braid, you are stressing and damaging your hair. By using intensive shampoos and/or conditioning, you are restoring and replenishing your hair. Report It

What will work?any personal experience (hair growth)?

i want to buy hair growth stuff but dont know what works well or the fastest.do you have any suggestions? i cant buy too expensive one though. what is the fastest?cheapest? do you have any you sear by?

What will work?any personal experience (hair growth)?

F.A.S.T shampoo and conditoner

Bitotin vitamins

avoid hot tools

heres some other guidelines

Assess the current condition of your hair. Is it healthy, shiny and smooth, or has it been damaged from heat, sun, coloring, etc? You don't want to grow out hair that is damaged and scraggly. If you suffer from split, thin, and dry ends, seriously consider getting a trim to remove as much of the damage as possible. Split ends will not slow down growth, as your hair grows from the scalp, but getting rid of them will make your hair more neat and attractive.

Look at your overall health and your lifestyle. How is your diet? Do you exercise and sleep enough? Are you under a large amount of stress? If your body is lacking in health, your hair will be lacking as well. Your hair growth rate will be at its maximum when you are at your healthiest.

Make some dietary changes. Hair consists of protein (because hair is keretinized protein) so be sure that you are getting enough. Incorporate foods from all food groups - especially protein. Nuts, poultry, vegetables, fruits, grains, eggs, etc. all contribute to hair health. Bacon is a hair superfood because of the B-Complex vitamins and protein, but frequent consumption is not reccomended because it can add to your waist line.

Consider taking a daily vitamin supplement. There are many options on the market nowadays. Research the multi-vitamins which may work best for you. Other vitamins and minerals that are believed to contribute to hair growth are: biotin, beta-carotene, biosil, b complexes, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, silica, nettle, and flaxseed oil.

A good hair vitamin will contain all of the nutrients necessary for overall health, as well as those specific to hair growth. Biotin and MSM are ingredients every hair vitamin should contain. Biotin promotes cell growth, the production of fatty acids, metabolism of fats, and amino acids. MSM lengthens the hair growth phase. Using a combination of the two is beneficial for healthy hair. Using an amino acid supplement is not necessary for growing longer hair. Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein. Thy are found in foods of animal origin, such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dair products. Most Americans eat more than enough protien for to supply these amino acids. Only strict vegetarians need to be concerned with their protein intake. So one may assume that using an amino acid supplement can only make hair grow faster.[1]

Stimulate blood flow to your scalp. One of the two main ways is by doing cardio. There are many benefits to cardio - staying fit, being healthier, glowing skin, and increased blood flow, which can get rid of strange hues that some people get on their legs and increase hair growth. The other main way of stimulating blood flow is by massaging your scalp. Take the tips of your fingers and message your scalp all over, for about 5 minutes.

Do not overbrush your hair and NEVER use a bristled brush, as this will tear and damage your hair. Not to mention it doesn't feel very nice. (Boar bristled brushes, however, are in fact good for your hair as they "maintain good hair condition by keeping it clean, stimulating the scalp and distributing oils for a healthy, glossy look, without ever damaging it or causing split ends."

Do not brush your hair when it is wet. Wet hair is very elastic and prone to breakage. De-tangle your hair with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb.

Do not overwash your hair. The oils that your scalp produces can be beneficial to the health of your hair. If you wash your hair every day, consider skipping a day or only using conditioner one day instead of both shampoo and conditioner. Shampooing everyday may be necessary for oily hair, but normal hair can get by with shampooing about 2-4 times a week, and dry hair is best when you shampoo about 1-2 a week. Curly hair (types 3A-4C) can be shampooed as little as once a week, to once every two weeks, because curly hair tends to be dryer.

Use a shampoo/conditioner that is right for your hair. For instance, if you have dry, frizzy hair, you should not be using products designed for oily hair.

Look into using a leave-in conditioner and/or hot oil treatments. Your local beauty supply store (i.e. Sally's) will have many options to choose from. Make sure to read the directions beforehand!

Cut back on the coloring sessions, which will inevitably cause your hair damage. If you must color your hair, look into some of the newer dyes available which offer more moisturizing protection when dying. If you want to dye your hair a shade of red, try dying it naturally with henna. If you want to dye your hair black, you can try dying it with a combination of henna and indigo.

Use protective styles, which are hair styles that keep your hair up and unexposed from environmental damage. Some examples would be buns, ponytails, plaits, cornrows, french braids, etc. This is very effective for a person whose hair is above shoulder length, because the hair tends to rub against clothes. Use them loosely, though, as you don't want to yank on your roots and scalp.

When pulling back your hair, use smooth bands and clips. Avoid metal clips that can tangle and break hair, and never use bare rubber/elastic bands on your hair or hairbands that contain metal connections.

Avoid excessively hot water as well as blow dryers and curling irons. If you must use a blow dryer, invest in a diffuser.

Consider wearing a cap or scarf of some sort when outside. Excessive heat/cold, wind and the elements can damage your hair.

You may also choose to invest in a silk/satin hair wrap or a silk/satin pillowcase to reduce damage to your hair when you toss and turn at night.

Remember to have patience. Scalp hair grows at an average rate of 0.4 mm/day (approximately 0.5 in/month). Unless you are genetically programed that you grow hair faster, it will take some good old fashioned time and patience to see the desired results. [2] Your hair growth tends to decrease during colder months. Try as you might, it may take years to grow your hair to a desired length, curly or straight. With trends changing so quickly, you have to consider that by the time your hair is long, it may be more in style to have shorter hair. Be diligent and have patience, and you will at the very least be rewarded with beautiful, healthy, if not long, hair. Love your hair and don't damage it!

[edit] TipsIf you get your hair relaxed, you may want to do a relaxer stretch, or decide to go natural, which is much less damaging to your hair. If you decide to stretch or go natural, you can choose to blow or flat iron the roots straight, or wear it in protective styles.

If you are an avid swimmer, consider wearing a swimming cap to protect your hair from chlorine damage.

Those with curly/frizzy or afro-carribean hair will have to be patient. The texture of your hair means that growing length will take a great deal of time. Straightening your hair will add length, but be sure that you aren't damaging your hair in the process by using heat and chemicals. Letting your hair air dry wrapped around large curlers or cans is usually an effective and safe method. (if you do have afro-carribean hair, try using a 'Dark and Lovely' product.

Still not fast enough for you? Consider hair extensions, but exercise caution. There are many drawbacks to the use of hair extensions. You must make sure that whoever is applying your extensions is a professional. If applied poorly, your extensions will look both fake and severely damage your hair. Take your time selecting your extensions as well. There are a variety of materials and extensions available on the market, many of which can and will look horribly fake. The other drawback is that extensions must be periodically replaced every six to eight weeks. If you are willing to invest the time and money, then they may be the right choice for you.

[edit] WarningsConsult your physician before making any dietary changes or changes in your exercise regime.

Be sure to do your research when searching for a hair dresser. If your hair dresser doesn't know what he/she is doing it will make the process a lot longer and/or more stressful.

Hi, can green leaf vegetables promote hair growth?

Good healthy hair starts with good internal health. Have you ever noticed people that look really healthy have nice shiny full heads of hair? If I were you I would go into your local guru in wholistic medicine and see what natural supplement the can offer for robust hair growth. I閳ユ獫e had success with a product called Provillus also.

Hi, can green leaf vegetables promote hair growth?

To supplement your diet with zinc, consume food products rich in the same such as fish, wheat germ, egg yolk etc or take supplements, which contain zinc. A balanced diet is the first step to good health and this fact should be borne in mind always.

Research has confirmed the role of zinc has a vital nutrient in the healthy growth of hair. Zinc is an important element in the management of stress when it is mobilized in stress as it is an important constituent of many vital enzymes required for normal body functions.

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

My hair is not as thick/long as it used to be and natural growth is not working for me.I have been taking a vitamin made by GNC specifically for women's hair growth and it is not working.I need a vitamin that will make my hair thicker.help!

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Vitamins do not "make your hair grow" any more than the natural process in your body does. Vitamins are essential to healthy hair which promotes longer hair, by keeping the hair on your head healthy decreasing split ends, dryness, unness breakage etc, your hair can then keep the goodness and add to it with its natural growth.

Essentials for hair growth are your B-vitamins (3,5,6), Iron, Vitamin C and E, fatty acids (found in fish oils and other oils) Wheat germ oil also, B-Carotene, and PROTEIN (the makeup of your hair). Becareful not to provide too much protien (1/week treatment is perfect). Protein treatments are great for immediate repair, I recommend a good old fashion egg or organic products like PHYTO (they make an egg and protein treatment). If you use a real egg be sure to rinse with cool-semi cold water or you'll have a hair omlet.

Some ppl benefit from long term sulfur shampoos because sulfur is great for the hair drandruff. (Dandruff shampoos)

I highly recommend the PHYTO line, O'JON, and NIOXIN. The first two are versatile with hair texture and race. I'm black and I've also used NIOXIN but it is for thinner lighter straighter hair like causcasian. O'JON does have more moisture and is catered to women of culture i.e. Chaldean, Indian, African-American because it provides more moisture than do caucasian hair products.

I suggest a rest period of about two weeks where you don't blowdry or curl and you wear your hair natural , this helps me cleanse my hair.

I also highly and cannot stress enough to discontinue the use of products based in alcohol (usually second or third on the ingredient list) this includes cheap gels and hair sprays. If hair spay and gel is essential to your style then make sure you protect your hair with conditioners.

Definitely for me - the obvious - working out, drinking 3 liters of water a day, balancing my stress and getting sleep (with a satin/silk sleeping bonnet).

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Fish oil supplements

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Your GNC vitamin is not working because taking vitamins has nothing to do with hair growth.

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

There is no vitamin that will make your hair grow. I'm sorry.

See a stylist, they often have products that can cosmetically help you. Also, changing your diet wouldn't be a bad idea. Have you seen a doctor? Hair loss can be a sign of many health issues.

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

I've heard that Silica is good. If you have a Whole Foods Market or something similar close to you, just browse through their supplements (shelved by catergory), or ask one of the supplement people, they seem to know everything. ;)

Also, There are these little, round scrubbers (I think available at Whole Foods as well) with short but flexible bristles that have been proven to stimulate the scalp and increase hair growth. And they're way cheaper than most of the supplements you can buy.

Good luck. and ... happy growing ... ? ;)

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Nothing you take ever will promote additional hair growth. That's a medical fact.

Anything that is being sold that says otherwise is a gimmick.

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Try Prenatal vitamins. They won't hurt you if your not pregnant and they always seem to make my hair grow!

What is a good vitamin/supplement to take for promoting hair growth?

Hair growth and hair thickener are two different things. If your hair texture has changed and is coming out then you might consider other medications youre taking or recent child birth can have an effect. A temporary solution is hair thickening shampoos. But if your hair has been coming out and the texture has changed, and there have been no recent changes in lifestyle... then consult a doctor. They can take blood work to see if you may have some kind of infection, etc. In turn they can refer you to a dematologist.

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

So i recently did a hair show thing where they totally butchered off my hair super short. what can i do to boost hair growth? shampoos? conditioners? treatments? and people have suggested MANY different supplements/vitamins and i don't know which one is the BEST and WORKS the BEST!

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

Here's the painful truth: Nothing will make your hair grow faster. There are many rumors out there but I have been a stylist for a very long time and I can speak from experience that nothing works. Your hair will grow about 1/2 inch a month so just be patient! Good luck.

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

Good diet and grooming habits. Don't wash and blow dry your hair every day!

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

loreal

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

before you take a bath., apply the juice of aloe vera..it helps alot!

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

I have very long hair. Two things make it strong and grow fast, prenatal vitamins and horsetail or shavegrass herbs. They are the same thing, some stores call it horse tail and some call it shavegrass. You can get it at GNC or any herbal store.

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

I heard about this shampoo thats actually for horses but can make your hair grow really fast, look it up online.

It's called Mane and Tail Shampoo and it does make your hair grow longer, but you might want to Try Doo Gro Products

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

From a hairdressers point of view!! WOW! Tail and mane shampoo? yeah this might work...kinda...but it leaves a coating of plastic on your hair and is terrible!!! I've seen too many times what it can do...after 2 weeks of using this stuff I'll be able to slide my scissors down your hair and scrape plastic off it!

I'd suggest using a product called Nioxxin...it not only helps your hair grow quicker it will also make it thicker. You can buy it at almost any salon...even the hair salons inside of walmart.

good luck

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

From a physiological standpoint, hair growth comes from within the skin, so trimming it or using shampoos won't really make the hair follicle itself grow faster. Hair is basically protein, so I think any supplement that focuses on that should be good. I'll tell ya this, though: when I went on a high-protein diet and really focused on eating well, my hair and nails grew super fast!

What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

Prenatal vitamins work pretty well cause of the high folic acid. And there's a shampoo called Mane %26amp; Tail, I think you can get it at a place like Sally's... It was originally for horses but sold for humans now. Also, a healthy diet and lots of water never hurt.

What products can I find at Wal-Mart for hair growth?

hair growth pills

What products can I find at Wal-Mart for hair growth?

Try Biotin, around $4 for a long supply, helps hair and nails grow faster and stronger. It's in the aisle with all the vitamins. Good luck!

What multi-vitamins, FDA-approved, are the best for hair growth?

What label or types of vitamins are the best for speeding up hair growth?

What multi-vitamins, FDA-approved, are the best for hair growth?

ok hunny ur hair does grow 1/2 inch a month and prenatal vitamins are kinda costly but u can purchase them like at a walmart and use good shampoo thats so important no pert pantine ect...thats stuff is bad will turn to was in the microwave use like redkrn mitchell its not even as costly as one would think happy hair growing lol dont we wish our hair grew like those dumb chia pets hahaha

What multi-vitamins, FDA-approved, are the best for hair growth?

use prenatal vitamins. its a multi vitamin that has everything you need and it increases hair and nail growth. Nature Made is a good brand but any should work.

What is the best and most effective hair growth pills for women?

I am woman and I suffered from hair loss and tried taking vitamins to grow my hair. Amino acids, B Vitamins, and Vitamin E worked; but, overall vitamins alone weren't enough to increase my hair growth rate and stop my hair from shedding.

As with any pills you take, other than vitamins, you may have side effects that increase facial and body hair. To truly grow your hair, you need to attack your hair growth from the inside and outside. You will need a great hair growth regimen, which has three major components: a healthy eating plan, substantial water intake, and a high quality hair growth and hair care product.

Step One: Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product

I suggest you buy an all-natural hair growth product, as opposed to one that contains hormones or chemicals. Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most 鈥渘atural鈥?products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can鈥檛 read the ingredients, don鈥檛 buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth product, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. Finding this company took me awhile; but Beauty 4 Ashes pretty much gives you everything you need to make your hair grow. Foremost, I checked the ingredient listings and the products contained no artificial ingredients. The system also included hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. At first, the system may seem a bit pricey, but, boy was I impressed with the results. In 9 months, I went from patches of hair to hair just above my shoulders. Now, I am no product junkie; but I have to tell you that this product is worth the money. It does not cost an arm and leg and it is worth every penny you pay. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com. Also, check for it on Ebay. You may actually find a deal.

Step Two: A Healthy Hair Eating Plan

Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday. If you follow this plan, not only will your hair grow, but you will also lose weight. That is, of course, if you lay off the junk food. Remember, I warned you too much junk food above.

Step Three: Drink Water

Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances. Water also transports the important nutrients your body needs throughout your body. Hate drinking water? Add lemon and Splenda to have a healthy, tasty alternative.

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

I play bass in a black metal band. Okay anyone who doent like that it really has nothing to do with my question.

I would like to eventually be able to do the windmill headbanging (swirling long hair in a circle) but my school requires that we have shorter hair. I've heard you can purchase Keratin supplements at vitamin stores to help speed up hair growth to some extent. i currently have about 3/4 inch on my head and i was hoping to have about shoulder length by mid-next year. any tips if theres no supplements i can take? Thanks. \m/%26gt;.%26lt;\m/

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

I PERSONALLY HAVEN'T TRY IT BUT IT SEAMS GOOD THERE IS NO HARM IN TRYING SO GO AHEAD GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BAND!i LIKE GUITARS ALTHOUGH I CAN'T PLAY IT!

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

the pills, or the "supplement" are just like steroids.... there is nothing that can speed the hair groth cycle!! ur hair grows about 6-8 inches a year!

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

yes there is, but it wont speed it up that much.. the average persons hair will grow 1/2 inch a month, however you can help it to grow a LITTLE bit faster- like 1/8-1/4 inch faster every monnth.

Keratin is what your hair is made up from in large part- to my knowledge you cant take a suppliment of it, however you can get keratin treatments it is like a conditioning treatment, hoever- it mainly is to strengthen your hair, not help it grow

vitamins are what you need most of all to help your hair grow.. i would suggest prenatal vitamins but if youre a guy i dont know about that...

mainly folic acid, b complex vitamins and flaxseed oil vitamins (or fish oil vitamins- these contain omega3 fatty acids wich will promote healthy hair growth)

they also sell "hair pills" at gnc and sally beauty supply

also a multi vitamin will help

make sure your hair is clean.. if you lt your hair oils bulid up it will cuase your folicles to clog up with oil and inhibit or stunt the growth... a lil bit of hail oil is good for your hair, but dont let it get to oily

another thing you can try is something they sell at sally beauty supply called nutri-ox and they have a few treatments you put on your scalp every day to help stimulate blood flow to your scalp, this helping your hiar to grow

your hair wont grow to your shoulders if it is only an inch or so long if you want it that way by say next summer... i would say about your chin, maybe a lil longer

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

Although the speed of hair growth has a lot to do with genetics there are some things you can do to help speed it along. There is a supplement sold by GNC called "Hair, Skin, %26amp; Nails" that has all the vitamins to target health in those specific areas. It's pretty good. It has Biotin in it, which is excellent for your hair.

You can try scalp massages to increase the blood flow around the hair cuticles:

Bend at the waist while standing or sitting in a chair and let your hair hang down. Scritch your fingers through your hair like you are shampooing it. Run your hands through your hair, massaging your scalp with the pads of your fingers, and take hold of handsful at the roots and give a (gentle!) tug. Not only does this stimulate bloodflow and encourage hair growth, it's a great pick-me-up in the middle of a boring work day.

If you are a junk foodie sort of person try to improve your diet as the more efficiently your body is fueled the better your hair will grow. It is also important to take care of the hair you have so that you don't lose any length to breakage: Avoid hair dryers and curling irons, don't brush it too much (a wide-toothed comb is better anyway), don't scrub/tangle it while you're washing and give it protein treatments and deep conditioning treatments for strength and suppleness.

Finally, check out The Long Hair Community Forums for excellent advice and techniques on growing out your hair, and a wonderful group of friendly people to help you on your way.

Can i take a supplement to speed up hair growth?

Let's do this the simple inexpensive way. Start eating alot of jello. It is full of gelatin and it will make your hair and nails longer, silkier and also strengthens them. I use to have bad hair that would break and real soft nails, my beautician told me to eat jello. Now my hair is long, and does not break off anymore. As an extra bonus, I have long hard nails too.

I hope you are a guy.

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

I have the same issue, but my beard is even more patchy than that. I decided that I would never be able to grow a proper beard, mourned the disability for a moment and then grew the world's most pathetic mustache...which I then got rid of with my face eraser razor.

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

It will be very difficult in such a condition. Also, you have not told your age. Hormonal treatment may help but a specialist only be contacted. Another way is to use Baba Ramdeo's natural technique : Rub your thumb's nails upto 3 minutes twice or thrice in a day. I believe this will affect the density of the hair.

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

there is no medication for this problem. hair does not grow for the men who wants it; and grows on the cheeks who shave it. this is the irony of life. we have to accept it, if there is no medication to cure it. i m also one of the victims of ur problem. take care...

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

just trim it..

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

My husband's hair seems to be similar. Just try giving it additional time to fill in. otherwise you'll never get there. After an addition 2 weeks, if it's still not filling in... then do what you like to make it good for yourself... meaning shave it or whatever.

I want to keep a beard. but the hair growth on my face in not even. any suggestions?

Why not transplantation? It may be a novel idea but sure it may work!

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. Does anyone know what good foods that could help your hair growth?

Here's a list of vitamins and foods.

Good nutrition is vital to healthy hair growth, just as it's essential to overall good health. It is very important for your hair to get the proper care and proper food. The proper hair care treatment can be in the form of proper diet, good exercise, and use of different herbs for your hair. The use of different kinds of products would help your hair in its natural growth.

Food which is rich in silica and iron helps in preventing hair loss which can help in having good hair too. Leafy vegetables are rich in iron and would surely help in creating the needed smooth and shiny look that everyone keeps talking about. It is very important to have a good diet as it is food for your hair and body.

Some of the common food habits which you can acquire is to have beets, green leafy vegetables (as mentioned above), broccoli, carrots, radish, mint, basil. You can have different types of salads to add freshness in your diet. Combination of herbs and vegetables just makes it a very healthy diet. If you want to digest your food better cook it tender enough to eat.

One must be having this impression that spices won閳ユ獩 be good for health but some spices like turmeric and cumin in your dish helps in your hair growth. Fruits in all form are an essential nutrient provider and should be part of your diet. Berries, citrus fruits, melons, grapes and small amount of raisins also help. Coconut helps in avoiding premature graying as well as hair fall.

You can quit some of the habits such as smoking, caffeine, aerated drinks which weaken your bones and also affect your hair too. Avoid constant brushing, combing your hair and be careful the way you treat your hair. By roughening up your hair it will damage your hair. Too much of hot water on your hair is not good. Stressing your hair in any manner is not good; blow drying too much is also not good.

Kevin Pederson has been managing a number of sites related to hair and skin care which have information on right food for hair, hair care tips, hairstyling tips, care to be given to your hair and things you can avoid to have good hair.

Does hair transplantation or any related things such as ptaching, clonning give u natural look and growth?

WHAT IS HAIR TRANSPLANTATION?

Hair transplantation refers to the surgical movement of permanent hair with its roots to an area of bald or balding skin. Hair transplantation is an effective and permanent solution for hair loss.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In almost all cases of so-called "male-pattern baldness", there is a permanent fringe of hair along the side and back of the scalp. This hair demonstrates "donor dominance". This means it will grow permanently even if it is moved to an area which is bald or balding.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Hair transplantation is done under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Hair and follicles are removed from the "donor area" of permanent hair along the back and sides of the head. This area is immediately camouflaged by the surrounding hair.

The removed hair follicles are then divided into individual grafts of varying sizes. The smallest grafts contain 1-2 hairs and are often referred to as "follicular units" or "micrografts". Larger minigrafts may contain up to 6 hairs and can provide more density per graft. Choice of number and type of graft is made taking into account the patient's hair type, quality, color and the area to be transplanted. Once prepared the grafts (hair and its roots) are then inserted into the thin area.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Hair transplantation is an office procedure that takes approximately four to eight hours depending on the extent of the planned procedure. Most people return to work two to five days after the surgery. Most people require more than one session, each spaced at least six months apart each to complete the hair restoration in an area. The timing and number of transplants depends on the amount of hair you have when you start, how much is anticipated that you will continue to lose without transplanting and how much hair density you desire.

WILL IT LOOK NATURAL?

Yes. In the hands of well-trained and experienced physicians, and using newer techniques with smaller grafts, the hair grows in the proper direction with a feathered hairline, and a highly aesthetic result.

The hair is your own, and just like all of your hair it grows, can be washed, curled, cleaned, permed and styled as desired. Once the transplants are completed, no special maintenance is required.

Does anyone know the correct way to use rosemary oil for hair growth?

I've heard that rosemary oil promotes hair growth and I would like to try it. Any other tips to promote hair growth would be very helpful.

Does anyone know the correct way to use rosemary oil for hair growth?

DILUTE IT!!! If you put it directly on your head, you can burn yourself and poison your system through skin absorbtion.

I have used it before, and it worked great. I was getting an inch a month. I would get an old conditioner bottle, and put enough for 2 or 3 showers worth of conditioner in it. Then I would put 10 drops of oil in it. I shook it up vigorously each time before I used it, and I used it every time I showered. Small batches are imperative to mixing the oil properly.

It also prevents gray hairs.

Anyone knows about African American hair growth products.?

my hair won't growth, it's thinning, and I want to grow it longer. Help!!! Please.

Anyone knows about African American hair growth products.?

downey gave a stupid answer ! im white and i know , first you need to figure why your hair is thinning is it because of to many relaxers or curls? is it genetic? talk to your dr first ask him if you are able to take a vitamin called biotin it helps with hair and nail growth, if your hair is breaking off due to chemicals then the obvious answer is to go nappy for a while, it really is in right now, and no extensions right now your hair does not seem to be strong enough to support them, i hope this helps and contact your most popular hairdresser in your area, most hair stylists will give you an honest answer some for free some for a small consultation cost check into it , good luck and remember to massage your scalp at least 20 min a day to stimulate blood flow to the hair roots ,, this does work i swear!!

Anyone knows about African American hair growth products.?

Ya african americans, us white people dont no **** about it.

Why do you wax the opp direction of hair growth?

wouldn't waxing in the direction of hair growth be better?

Why do you wax the opp direction of hair growth?

because you pull the hair from the root...and it can really grab it that way.

Why do you wax the opp direction of hair growth?

Waxing the opposite way grabs it from the roots.

Why do you wax the opp direction of hair growth?

Waxing in the opposite direction helps pull the hair from the folicle. If you do it the same way, most of the time it just rips off the top of the hair and it grows back faster.

Hey I'm looking for hair growth products THAT ACTUALLY WORK! Any suggestions?

I'm not a hair expert, but here are a couple things I suggest for you to get hair growth.

Sulfur. It is known for promoting hair growth and here are the names of the powders you should use, Flowers of Sulfur or Sublimed Sulfur. You can mix it up with coconut, olive or jojoba oil to get a nice smell to it and apply it on your scalp as much as you like. Trust me, you will know the difference with your hair within a month.

I believe natural oils are the best for the hair than some store products you find at the bss or Sallys. Don't get me wrong, there are some hair products that is good for the hair, but always look at the ingredients first before purchasing it. Anything that contains mineral oil or petroleum can stunt your hair growth as it clogs the hair follicles.

You can also get pure coconut oil. I'd heard this works wonders and make the hair grow. Here is a website to check it out.

http://indianherbcare.com/vatika-hair-p-...

You can buy the Vatika Oil at any Indian store in your area.

I think it is best for you to check out this forum: http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/. These women really know what they are talking about (vitamins, shampoos, conditioners, etc) and there are plenty of things you can learn from there to get the long hair you want. They can tell you a hell lot more than I can!

Good luck.

How often do u have to wax before hair growth lessens??

How often do u have to wax before hair growth lessens??

When I used to wax, I used to do it every 10, 15 days. It really didn't last that long. But if you want a more permanent effect, you might wanna try lasering it. Good luck!!

How often do u have to wax before hair growth lessens??

It's true that it depends on the person, but I've heard of a process called electrolysis, which I think stops hair growth from the roots. So try electrolysis.

How often do u have to wax before hair growth lessens??

it depends but usually its like when your about 25 or something..my friend is 45 and she doesn't grow anymore hair on her leg...hmm..so idk how to answer your question..

How often do u have to wax before hair growth lessens??

If your female then Evening Primrose Oil is good for the hair, skin and nails

Another really good thing is a solution called 'Regain' Search for it online - this is particularly good but shop around online as you can get it cheaper from different companies.

What vitamins will help with hair growth?

The B vitamins are great for this especially B12. You should be able to get a skin hair and nails vitamin from your pharmacy so maybe it'll be worth trying it out.

Egg yolks, or the water from boiled nettles are a great conditioner too just make sure you wash the eggs out with coolish water though

Also you need to retain what you have, my girlfriend was getting married and about3 months before she got married she started using www.biolustreflorida.com products (which I recommended to her) and her hair HAD TO BE a good 4 inches longer. What she confirmed (I witnessed) was no flyaways in the brush, nothng on your couch when you get up, nothing in the tub, so it basically helps you keeep what you have. Whcih then results in longer hair. Not to mention healthy hair, lol. Good luck with growing your hair

Hi. help needed about aloevera and hair growth?

Fact: There is no sure-fire way to prevent all hair loss.

However, some methods that have been used work on some people. Here are some suggestions for natural remedies to hair loss.

Massage

Massaging the scalp in general for a couple of minutes a day can stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in mild cases stimulate some hair growth in minor cases of temporary hair loss.

There are several electric massagers on the market that have an attachment for scalp massaging as well. An oriental method called Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) has been used to increase circulation to the scalp and face also.

Aromatherapy

A blend of six drops each of lavender and bay essential oils in a base of four ounces of either almond, soybean or sesame oil massaged into the scalp and allowed to sit for 20 minutes has been used by aroma therapists to stimulate the scalp.

Saw Palmetto Extract

There is a definite connection between the prostate and hair loss for men. Saw Palmetto has been found to work in fighting benign prostatic disease by lowering levels of DHT, which is a known cause of androgenetic alopecia.

Saw Palmetto extract is an effective anti-androgen and shows promise as an effective treatment for hair loss prevention. More information on Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Women on oral contraceptives or hormone therapy should not take Saw Palmetto.

Nettle Root Extract

Nettles are rich in vitamins A and C, several key minerals and lipids that can be beneficial to the hair. Nettle Root Extract has been used successfully in Europe as an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase in treating BPH.

Rosemary and Sage

Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown benefit traditionally when used externally. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair daily.

Jojoba Oil

If you are predisposed to seborrhea, eczema, psoriasis, or dandruff, you could consider using jojoba oil. Mexicans and southwestern Native American nations have used jojoba oil traditionally for centuries to promote hair growth and the control of dandruff. Jojoba oil is great for hypoallergenic skin because it is a great moisturizer and mimics the scalp's own sebum.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has been used by Native Americans, Indians and many in the Caribbean to promote healthy hair and prevent hair loss. Aloe's can help the scalp by healing it and balancing the pH level of the scalp while cleansing the pores. A common preparation of Aloe Vera gel with a small amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is used as a shampoo and has traditionally shown great benefit.

Henna

Henna is a traditional Indian herb that acts as a natural conditioner and is excellent for the maintenance of healthy hair. It can help heal the hair shaft by repairing and sealing the cuticle, protecting hair against breakage and loss of shine.

Polysorbate-80

Polysorbate-80 is an FDA approved surfactant that is also approved as a food additive. Although not proven, Polysorbate-80 is said to remove deposits of DHT and cholesterol from the scalp. Polysorbate-80 is being recommended by some naturopathic practitioners as an application for the scalp approximately 15 minutes prior to shampooing.

Cleansing and Detoxification

Cleansing should be a major part of your regimen to maintain and grow hair. Many scalp related diseases are directly the result of toxemia, while toxins in the body adversely affecting the body's systems indirectly affect other conditions. Cleansing can be performed through oral means regularly and occasionally by enema or colonic irrigation.

More remedies for detoxification

Psyllium husk

Fiber is vital to cleansing, and most North American diets are deficient in natural fiber. Psyllium husk is a bulking laxative agent that can be used to safely move waste through the colon. Psyllium is a very good substance as it gently scrubs the walls of the colon to remove waste that is stuck to the walls.

Exercise

Finally, although exercise does absolutely nothing directly to grow hair, most holistic practitioners recommend it. Exercising can improve blood flow, the delivery of oxygen to the cells of the body, and help the digestion of foods, all things that aid the health of hair follicles.

Are there any products that can improve your hair growth and keep it from breaking?

A friend of mine wants to grow her hair longer. I want to give her tips on it but i dont have enough. I wonder if there are any easy, cheap products you can use to improve hair growth and stop it from breaking. Are there any? If so, can you give me the names? Any help, tips, advices or personal experiences are welcome!

Have a nice day and thanks for answering!

Cool way to hep your friend but it all comes down to what kind of hair they have. In order to grow your hair reasnably you have to learn to take care of it and understand what texture you have ie selecting the appropriate styles, shampoos, conditioners and maintenance products to keep it healthy. I haven't found a hairstylist I could trust so I don't buy into the hype of going to a professional they are more rigged with psycho drama and gossip than helping you with your hair and they don't switch up the products for each hair type. I have watched caucasions go into the same shop I do and see them get their hair washed with lusters products clearly made for African American women.

Different strokes for different folks. A person with thin hair will probably lean toward products that provide volume and sheen without making the hair heavy with oily residue. A person w/thick hair may want to invest in products that will lock in moisture. All the while conditioning the scalp for more hair growth.

As an african american woman with locs I go for products that will lock in moisture and give my hair a clean sheen. I saw an Oprah aftershow where someone was dying to know what she used in her hair and she responded the same way.

You may find a product that works but every three months you have to change it, because the hair gets use to it. I was using an organic carrot based cream that worked great in the beggining after a while my hair stopped responding to it. Just remember the basics. Eggs, avocado and mayo are good natural conditioners. Lemon, beer and witch hazel are great for dry itchy scalp. and Peppermint and Jazmine tea are great for rinsing the hair.

Anything in between is you being careful and making a wise choice for healthier hair.

a natural way is rosemary. you get the rosemay boil it, like if you were making a tea. and let it cool down and put it in a spray bottle. Use it every day. you can use it on damp hair or dry. This also helps the hair loss. Thats what I used when my hair started falling out to regrow it and to make it stop falling. Good Luck

How about trying AMLA hair oil- this can be found in almost all indian stores. There are tons of oils there for women wanting longer stronger hair. Coconut oil and almond oils are good. I usually try to put the amla in my hair once a week. Make sure to massage it into the roots and leave it on for a few hours.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hai

I am 21 years old and I have very thin hair. As a woman it makes me feel self conscience and being a young woman makes matters worse. I have very beautiful, curly, brown hair and I am afraid that I will be bald by the time I am in my forties. What sorts of things affect hair growth or loss? What can I do to make my hair grow faster or stop falling out. I am not sure if it's because I wash my hair too much or not enough; or if it's because of my diet or how I style my hair. Does anybody have any advice or experience??

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

my hair use to shed a lot...all i have done to stop the process is eat more green leafy veggies...also drink lots of water it helps to keep the hair moisturized, also u can give yourself head massages which helps blood circulation causing your hair to grow faster, keep your hair trimmed about every other month because if your ends are split your hair will keep shedding and never grow.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

How much hair do you shed every day? What you think might be a lot may just be regular... people can lose up to a 100 hairs a day. However, if you're truly balding and see actual bald spots, then you might want to go to a dermatologist to see if you actually have some type of condition.

Diet does affect hair growth, but it usually doesn't have THAT much of an impact as long as you're eating relatively healthily...

Washing every day is fine, too. Most people DO wash every day, but if you think that may be the problem, then wash every other day. Also, conditioner MAY be too strong for your hair. I shed like crazy if I use conditioner, so I only use Dove Shampoo (I shave with the conditioner). Then, when my hair is semi-dry, I spritz some Ion Leave-In Conditioner Spray onto a comb (NOT a brush), and comb through my hair. That's another thing... try using a comb instead of a brush.

I personally lose a LOT of hair every day, and I still have a healthy head of hair, so don't worry too much. Stress can affect hair growth, too!

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

For hair to grow in thick and healthy, you need a lot of protein because that is what it's (for the most part) made up of. There are over-the-counter protein pills that you can take to improve hair growth. However, this increases growth all over, not just on your head. You'll have to pluck your eyebrows more and shave more. Just FYI.

There are several factors that can effect the growth or loss of your hair: your stress level, your diet, the products you put in your hair, if you use a lot of heated tools on your hair (irons, blow dryers, etc.), and the chemical services you have done to your hair.

You should only wash your hair when it looks dirty. For most people that is not every day. Shampoo strips your hair of it's natural oils. Conditioner puts new oils in. If you wash every day it's too stressful on your locks.

Don't pull your hair back into tight pony tails, this rips out your hair.

If it's heredity, there's not much you can do other than medicinal remedies. (Rogaine, etc.)

I hope this helps.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

My hair has been doing the same thing since I was around 20. I'm now 26 and it's gotten worse every year. It could be a number of different things.... your diet (not eating enough).... the way you style your hair.... or genetics. The best thing to do would be to see your Doctor. It could be something even worse like a thyroid problem..... if it's not a medical condition like this then your Doctor will probably recommend you seeing a Dermatologist.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

you shouldn't wash your hair more than every other day. some women have naturally thin hair but it doesn't mean your hair will fall out. however, you should make sure to get lots of protein to keep hair strong so it won't break and also omega 3 (in salmon or salmon pills) because it keeps your hair shiny and healthy. don't wear your ponytail too tight and make sure your scrunchies are scrunch free. if it really starts to fall out alot, you have to see a doctor but usually keeping a good diet will help.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

That so heartbreaking. Hairstylists know so many reasons why, genetics, lack of blood flow, environment contamination, water supplies.....

The plain hard facts is that this must absolutely start with your doctor. Balding/Thinning, ridges in nails can specifically point to a medical condtition....I could throw out several different types of balding but until we find the reason, don't start putting chemicals on your head.....

I am aware of several cases that stress was the underlying factor but I don't even pretend to know.....

Once you see a doctor, ask for a specific diagnosis, please email me and maybe I can be of further assistance.....

Although pro stylists are aware of these conditions, we are not trained to diagnose....Please trust me on this one...

Please let me know....

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

Thinning hair is usually hereditary from the mothers side. It effects men at a higher percentage but it does effect women. Keeping your scalp healthy is very important for this situation. Roots die because of lack of circulation and lack of oxygen. When washing hair, use a good clarifying shampoo and massage your scalp as you shampoo. This increases the circulation of blood to the roots and scalp. Shampoo daily and a heavy conditioner is not a good idea as it could block pores on the scalp. Also stay away from too much product that might coat your scalp.

Also, there are great vitamins at your local pharmacy to nourish your scalp and hair from the inside out. There are some that concentrate on just hair, skin and nails which would be ideal. Gelatin is something to add to your diet, as it provides nourishment to those areas. Also, eat healthy, avoid greasy foods, and exercise is always a good idea-it increases your circulation.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

Get Nixon shampoo and sclap therapy, it will promote new thicker hair growth. As far as the reason everyone looses hair but if you think yours is going overboard some medications alter the growth and your thyroid. Maybe go to your doctor and get a check-up and blood work, just to make sure nothing major is wrong. If you live somewhere where its cold then it wont grow as much as it would if it was warmer.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

That happens to me...That happends when my hair is dry so you should get hydrating moisturizing shampoos and conditioners.... Also try having more vitamin C in your diet.... Check out rogan for women ...it makes your hair less likley to fall out.

Also try scalp treatment shampoos and avoid gels and hairsprays.

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

Eat more healthy foods, you might be under too much stress, use a different kind of hair shampoo/conditioner...

I am young and my hair keeps falling out. What factors such as diet, care etc. promote or impede hair growth?

Go to a beauty salon that sells Nioxin...use it. It's kinda spendy but it helps rebuild your hair follicles and stimulate new growth.

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

Any one know any good ways to speed the growth of hair.Ive searched the internet but it just comes up with scams. The reson for wanting my hair to grow quick is due to me going on holiday in one mony=th and i want a good length for highlighting

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

in a month no but longer term get it trimmed every six weeks and take kelp tablets from holland and barrett

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

There is no way at all, hair will grow at the same speed with or without products. Just have it trimmed every 6 weeks or so to stop it breaking off and you will soon have healthy long hair.

By the way, I had my hair highlighted a month and a half ago and I'm going to have my hair cut this afternoon because it's awfully dry and split. That's due to the highlights because I don't straighten or curl my hair.

Massage hair oil into your scalp, just massaging the scalp will help, do it in circular motions and you will see a difference in a day, also brushing it 100 times just before bed will also help....

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

Sorry to tell you but there is no miracle product to speed up your natural hair growth. My hair is almost to my waist and I use Infusium 23 Leave-In Treatment once every week, coconut oil, try to avoid rubber-bands when possible, boar bristle brush, and were a swim-cap in the pool. Also try not to flat iron your hair it is extremely damaging to it and if you use hot rollers get the flocked kind. Or you could just get hair extensions for a fast solution. Good Luck!

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

There is no way to you can make your hair grow at a quicker rate , its a natural proccess like the rest of the human form. Growth hormone only aplies to bones. . Sorry

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

Everything I've read about hair growth says hair grows at a maximum of 1/2 inch per month. The articles say there is nothing you can do to speed up the growth. Fancy vitamins or hair preparations don't work either. They say that you can't speed up hair growth, but poor nutrition can slow hair growth. So they recommend an inexpensive multi-vitamin only.

Is Their Any Way To Speed Hair Growth?

Oh i wish! The only way to stop hair growth is by killing the hair folicle and you can do that by doing electrolysis which is quite a long process or you can do laser which works in about 6-8 sessions and is very good but quite expensive.
